Today's Jewelry
Obviously, this is now a sporadic feature!
-Erica Weiner brass filigree ring purchased last year at Artists and Fleas in Williamsburg. Can also be purchased here: Erica Weiner Jewelry.
-Gold bead necklace purchased yesterday at the Third Avenue street fair. It's kind of a long story, but I've been wanting a necklace like this ever since a blogger fave of mine, Nothing But Bonfires, came back from Ecuador with one. Apparently, the regional style consists of layering gold bead necklaces and wearing a fedora--and that's limited to the ladies!
I've been working on an elaborate plan to get BF into a vacation to Ecuador, but I figured me wanting to go purely for these necklaces wouldn't fly.
Anyhow, I was pretty psyched when I found the gold bead necklace yesterday.
Black empire waist dress and black pattern tights. And, yawn, black satin flats. It was early! And dark!
Here's Nothing But Bonfire's pic:

Yay! I love this feature. Great pic of the ring on the keyboard. LOL! How cute. I LOVE the necklace. LOVE! It's very sex-ay. And the Ecuador picture is awesome. Well, you know me, I like jewelry with a good back story!
:) I like the feature too, but sometimes it's kind of a bitch to do! Every couple of days isn't gonna kill me. They had the necklace in silver and gunmetal also--they were quite lovely and of course, I did not get the name of the seller/ jewelers. It was a husband and wife team. The name wasn't on the bag or anything!Damn those 3rd street fairs!
Anyhow, thank you kindly!
Lovely necklace!I was not interested in jewelry until I start blogging! And it is such a big and amazing world!
it's all too wonderful...the lovely ring, the pretty tights, all of it! the necklace is pretty amazing and from the picture you posted, looks like a pretty good match!
um, love-everything. the ring, the necklace, those tights, all wonderful, simply wonderful
I love the necklace too. All types of layered necklaces attract me! I have one in blue but they look nothing compared to yours!
Love the tights! Today is the first day of season that I've worn a skirt with my woven tights - I was really excited about it this morning. great use of your keyboard! :)
Although everything is black, the jewelry and the tights make the ooutfit pop! hope u keep this feature!
After hearing repeatedly from a friend who lived there for two years that Buenos Aires is as close to a European city as you'll get in South America, the bf and I are now reconsidering our next int'l trip--perhaps Ecuador or Peru instead. Especially since the server at the crepes place here in Barcelona is from there.
Of course, I won't tell him that part of my new motivation for going there is the jewelry.
Thanks everyone!
Ambika: Ooh, I hope you get to go! It seems like such a great place to visit! And really, we both know that the necklaces alone make it worthwhile. I guess the fedoras are key as well.
