Shiny Pretty Things

Some pictures from today's trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art...

Jeff Koons Installation on the roof:

Statue of a cold girl in the gallery (I sympathize):

Other gallery shots:

The sky over our apartment on my walk home

I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the Superhero: Fashion and Fantasy show. It felt very thrown together and I couldn't figure out any sort of deeper message, even with all the helpful grad school thesis paragraphs on the walls. But that Koons stuff is something else, right?

ugh, for some reason everytime i go to the met it's raining and i've never seen the koons stuff!!! they look fabulous.

i actually did like the superheros exhibit. maybe because i love costume design and some of those things were pretty outrageous...

The red and white outfit wasn't for work--I probably could wear it to work since I've seen other student workers wear fancy flip flops (ugh!) but I would feel very unprofessional in a tank, no matter how nice it was.

Shiny, pretty Koons. Too bad the superhero exhibit was a letdown ... such a cool concept.

Whoops, I totally left my comment on the wrong one.

By and large, I hate Jeff Koons. With a passion. In fact, I have a friend based solely on the fact that I was in a bar yelling about how much I hate Jeff Koons to a friend of hers, and we instantly bonded over that hate.

That having been said, I love me some Balloon Dog, and those other pieces are pretty cool, too.

But still.
