They look like the Caterpillar from alice in wonderland drank too much nectar or something and projectile vomited on one of the Queen of Hearts' gardeners shoes.
A lot of LOL-ing happening over here. I was leaning more towards "aging hippie having a psychotic episode and iron patches all over everything."
