Not Just for the Employees

Also...

I just finished this book:

Typhoid Mary: An Urban Historical by Anthony Bourdain

That's the Anthony Bourdain of Kitchen Confidential fame. Fascinating book, but that chef to chef connection (Mary Mallon aka Typhoid Mary was a cook) made it almost unbearable to be in a restaurant last night.

The Jewelry Box Germ-Killer
"A horde of biotech companies are developing products that use silver as an antibacterial, CNN reports. Apparently the same substance that is used to make jewlery and coins kills germs by bonding to bacteria on the ionic level and preventing it from reproducing."

It is just freaking me out that a chef chose this topic to write about. You have to wonder if there was a specific incident that inspired him.

Brian: I totally agree!

Wendy: He talks about it in the foreword, about what being a chef is like and how he empathized with her. He's actually a pretty awesome writer. Very colloquial in tone.
